Once I found out I was pregnant with my first child my life changed. Not only in the fact that I had created a bundle of joy, and was responsible for raising such a beautiful creature. I also realized I had to start taking my health seriously. My life changed. I swore an oath to creating a healthier lifestyle for myself, and to be a healthy role model for my children. I fought with childhood obesity. It wasn't until my first born was 16 months old that everything clicked, and I turned into a health nut.
I had a friend who sucked me into joining her and her new found love/hate relationship with running by doing the Couch Potato to 5K. My mom found me a used jogging stroller, and showed me there was no excuse to not run when you are a new mom. My husband helped me succeed in my first actual tshirt awarded 5K on Valentines day as he ran right beside me. Even since that run I have been hooked. I love to run.
In my search for health and wellness I have honestly lost 90lbs from my heaviest weight. It wasn't easy. It was hard work, and dedication. No miracle supplement or surgery, just good old fashioned hard work. It was a lifestyle change to healthy habits.
Over the last year my healthy habits have faded as I struggle with a new found case of adult asthma in a new enviroment, and a fast pace life in one of the largest cities in the world. I have found it time to share my story, struggles, inspiration, and motivation with you on my new health and wellness blog.
